Who We Are & How We Started

Sydney Gutter and Roof Restoration was formed in 1995 to provide a company run and owned by people with real world experience in all aspects of roofing and guttering. The emphasis has and will always be to provide the best possible product and service at all times with an understanding that future business comes from happy and satisfied customers. This is even more important than ever with the advent of social media and the ability for dissatisfied customers to express their frustration in reviews or on line interactions with other prospective customers.

I completed my metal work apprenticeship in 1978 then furthered my education and practical experience by training and working for one of the best roof restoration tradesmen in the business. I worked in that industry for seven years completing over 600 projects at which point I was ready for another challenge.

In 1986 I started work with a roof tiler to better my career with the view to one day forming my own company. This would allow me to fully understand all aspects of my chosen field to better instruct tradesmen and personnel as to what I expect in terms of quality of finish, best products for the individual application and the need to express clearly how the work will be carried out.

In 1996, after a year of trading I managed to secure the services of an excellent public relations/personal manager. This person proved to be exceptional and we worked together very well. He shared the same long term vision I have and so a business partnership was formed.

Since 1997 the company has consisted of two directors with over forty years combined experience, each with a wealth of knowledge in our chosen profession. But we could not have achieved what we have without the help, dedication and trust of all the people that work within our organisation.

Over the years we have been so fortunate to have the best personnel and tradesmen in the business with very little turn over. We are more like a family than a company with over 20,000 satisfied customers. We also have the enviable record of being one of the only roofing and guttering companies to have the same license number that was issued in 1995, the same phone number and address. We have not had to hide from our past as we have always had a long term goal of providing the best possible service, product and installation from the start and if there was a problem we fixed it.
